One of my favorite jobs we’ve done at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of San Antonio is this architectural and pool lighting job.
The architectural design of this home, pool and gardens, use multiple different angles and blend those angles so seamlessly into eachother. Curves blend seamlessly into straight architectural lines.
Like good architecture, good architectural lighting puts the emphasis on the feeling and mood that’s created. Good architecture and good architectural lighting compliment the living area but don’t take any attention away from the purpose of the area. Great pool lighting should make you want to enjoy the pool. Great patio lighting should make you want to enjoy the patio.
If you take another look at the photo above, try to find all of the outdoor lights that are affixed to the architecture, in the garden and along the walls. As soon as you begin looking for the lights, your eyes will be transfixed with the item they are illuminating – the stunning architecture, the beautiful landscaping, and the gorgeous pool.
Great outdoor lighting can illuminate any area you want — under water, paths, walkways, buildings and more. But when you begin looking for outdoor lighting for your home and gardens, think about the areas where you want to congregate and the mood you want to create. A good lighting designer can create a scene through outdoor lighting that supports your goals and illuminates the oasis you’ve created.
